As Christian disciples, we know that God blesses each person with many gifts - including talents and strengths - which we are called to use well. We know that God is with us and empowers us to be intentional about investing in our God-given talents, developing our strengths, and using our strengths for good. When we apply our talents and strengths for good in our daily lives, we are living in the way God created us to be.
If you want to use your talents productively, you need to invest in them through the application of skills (basic abilities), knowledge (what you know), and practice. This is what propels your talent into a strength - that is, the ability to consistently produce a specific positive outcome.
To help make the most of building talents into strengths, the CSEC website contains links to many of Gallup, Inc. resources (including the CliftonStrengths® assessment) along with many CSEC-member shared resources. CSEC website links and resources will provide you with some basic tools and information that we hope will help you explore and build upon your talents for the purpose of personal and spiritual growth.
Once you obtain your Top 5 - your Signature Themes - we invite you to ask yourself how can you add to your current knowledge and skills and apply these to your talents (talents within your Top 5 talent themes) to truly build on your talents to develop strengths. We recommend you begin this process by visiting the Strengths Labs listed in the Strengths - How section within this website.
